This is the commanders morale aura affecting the towers. You will also see the radius of the aura when placing turrets. The radius and damage bonus increases as you allocate more points to the commanders morale skill.

Some of the barriers count as factories. The ones that have the small pumps going up and down on them give you extra cash between waves as long as the barrier hasn’t been taken down entirely.

Where’s the challenge in getting each and every turret for each and every map? Part of the fun in the game is having a few restrictions. If that’s not good enough, this prevents the screen from filling up with tower icons or the icons being smaller and thus possibly difficult to use.

Only us, so far, I believe. You’ll have to wait for someone to write a guide or ask us. I think a manual or atleast an in-game guide might be in the making.
I believe you could adapt some tactics from the previous games with some alterations. Just adapt them for the new features.

I don’t use Openfeint but I can think of a few possibilities: your internet connection might cut out for a second or be laggy or if you are using an iPhone the connection might turn itself on and off per device standards to save traffic or battery life or the Openfeint servers are having a problem. Without more info it’s difficult to say.
