Repair DroneMemberI tend to rush to the top tier beam as my primary anti flyer defence due to the versatility, but the missile launchers are getting a buff in the next update, so hopefully dedicated anti-parasite defences will prove much more effective. They [i:3hgp6ypl]are[/i:3hgp6ypl] a pain, especially if you’re fond of the bomb/slow combo which is great against ground units but totally impotent against them.

MemberYeah… guess who has adopted that strategy recently… But a "machine gun beam battery" is ( almost ) always effective.
Still, even a small group of tougher flying parasites is able to push through barriers frighteningly easily. Atleast seeing a few get through twists your stomach into a knot. Thanks for the upcoming upgrade and taking a note of us fans.

MemberYeah, I am having a REALLY tough time with the flyer waves. In Sentinel 1 and 2, it took me a while to learn how many of the beam towers you actually needed to stop those guys, but here in 3, I am still only on campagin level 7, so no beam tower unlocked yet, and I cannot get past it with the missle towers. I get to about wave 30… made it to 40 once, even, but I cannot hold off the flyers until Wave 45 no matter what I try. I find that two fully upgraded bomb towers and one fully upgraded slow tower will hold off any and all ground waves through 40 in the right placement, but the air guys are killing me!! Using about 5 or 6 fully upgraded missle towers, my commander at level 7 with all points thrown into ranged, and the missles from the sentinel mothership, I still can’t hold off the later groups of flyers, they tear through my walls in seconds. I feel like the missle towers really don’t fire fast enough to do any real damage. Should I be going back to using the starter towerrs, which I learned in Sentinel 1 and 2 were pretty much throwaway towers just to get you started at the real early levels? Mayeb these woudl fare better until the beam tower is unlocked? Any insider hints and tips?
Thanks, and loving these games! The Sentinel series are my favorite games on iOS!

Repair DroneMemberMissile towers are glitched right now and occasionally do much less damage than they should. There’s a fix on the way of course but it might be a few weeks coming, so until then you might want to experiment with stacking up basic lasers to help whittle down the winged parasites. Once you have a few more options unlocked things should go a lot more smoothly.
Let us know how you get on!

MemberI just noticed that my topic should have been "winged parasites" but you can understand the mistake due to frustration from the "flying cheats".
I’ll have a look a that level after work to see if I can offer some actual advice.
If you have the napalm strike, that can be a lifesaver against the parasites. Let them swarm right up to your barriers and let em burn burn burn! Can’t remember if you get it for that level…December 10, 2010 at 11:16 AM #1567Karppa
Member4gotaboutdre, can you post what you have unlocked in the game so far? I can then have a proper look at your situation.

MemberOkay, so far I have unlocked the missle tower and the booster tower only. For ground, I have the bomb tower and slow tower and laser tower. For sentinel weapons, I have the homing missles and the ion bomb.
I actually just gave it one more shot trying the suggestion of lining up the basic laser towers. In Sentinel 1 & 2, these were to get you started, but you usually didn’t use them later in the game or for late waves. Surprisingly, lining them up here did the trick. They managed to get me through the level with no problems whatsoever. The flyers never even broke through my barriers.
Thanks for your suggestions!

MemberOn my original run I used the U-bend to slow and bomb all ground units to atoms, then built boosted beam and AA-batteries to simply overwhelm parasites and bosses. Try that.
Ugh… now my attempts to thwart the parasites caused some rocket towers to cause no visible damage and thus another barrier went down in mere seconds! I’m abandoning my command post until the rocket towers are fixed…

MemberAfter the update the flying cheaters are a little less harrowing. Finally there’s a proper way to deal with them.
